(00:00):
Good morning. It's Monday, March 17th, St. Patrick's Day 2025, and I want to give you a rundown of this morning's news. I did take a break over the weekend to recoup. I think it's important, especially that spring is around the corner, that we start to practice more self-care, get some sunshine and take breaks throughout the day. Also, take your weekends off and go do something fun. My name is Sally Hendrick and this is the Shout Your Cause podcast. I'm doing something a little bit different this season where I'm just giving you a snippet of the news so that you will go over to my substack at Shout Your Cause and sign up for free on my newsletter. I do daily news breaks and I take the weekends off. Here are some news highlights this morning Trump's pardon controversy. Trump claimed that Biden's pardons are null and void.
(01:00):
He argues that Biden used an auto pen instead of signing himself. Legal experts dismiss Trump's claim as unconstitutional. The French MEP wants the Statue of Liberty back. Ralph Gluxman calls for the US to return the statue. He claims America no longer values freedom due to alliances with tyrants. The White House defies court order on deportation. Axios reports that the US ignored ruling to turn back the Venezuelan gang members sites. International waters is justification and raises concerns of a constitutional crisis. The US credit card debt hits a record high at $1.21 trillion in total, which is up 7.3% from last year. Whoa, we can't afford that much more debt each year. We got to pull that reign that in February retail sales fall short, which impacts stock futures. There's a whole lot more news besides that on the newsletter today, so go and subscribe on at Shout Your Cause over on Substack and keep listening to this podcast. Please subscribe here and also rate the podcast and let me know what else you want to hear from me.
